  • Foot and ankle pain
  • Tendonitis

If you are experiencing a painful foot, ankle or leg condition that is affecting your mobility or quality of life, MLS Laser® Therapy offers a solution.

How Does MLS Laser® Therapy Work?

The MLS system delivers pulsed laser emissions directly to inflamed or damaged tissue.  This accelerates your body’s natural healing process and causes multiple biochemical effects which allow for a significant decrease in swelling, pain and inflammation.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

The number of sessions depends on your condition and will be discussed in advance. However, we typically recommend 6 sessions over the course of 3 weeks. One-off sessions can also be booked.

How Long Does a Treatment Take?

Each session takes no longer than 20 minutes, but the therapeutic benefit continues to soothe and heal long after you leave the clinic.

Are The Results Long-lasting?

MLS Laser® Therapy differs from many other treatments. When you feel better, you are better. Many of our patients feel the results immediately and have gone on to report long-lasting pain relief, especially when a full course of treatment is booked. This is because each treatment is cumulative. The best results are often felt after 2 to 4 sessions.

Does MLS Laser® Therapy Hurt?

There is very little or no sensation in a treatment session. Some patients describe feeling a mild, soothing and warm sensation. Results can often be felt during or very soon after the first treatment. For chronic conditions it may take a few treatments for you to feel the effects, but on a cellular level the benefits will be immediate. For some, there can be slight pain which can begin 6 – 24 hours after a treatment session as healing commences. This is most likely to arise when the health problems are chronic in nature and the nerves are highly sensitised. It usually subsides after a few days but can last longer in rare cases.

What Conditions Can Be Treated With MLS Laser® Therapy?

We have seen success with a variety of conditions, including but not limited to arthritis, knee pain, low back pain, hip pain, foot and ankle pain, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, skin conditions and inflammatory conditions. When you visit Quest Podiatry we will discuss the best plan of action relevant to your condition to get you back on your feet again.

What Should I Wear For My Treatment?

Loose fitting clothing that can be rolled back or easily removed is ideal since the laser needs direct skin contact. Shorts are a good idea. Your privacy will be respected throughout your treatment. For your safety, both you and your therapist will wear safety goggles which will be sterilised after use.

You Must Not Have MLS Laser® Therapy If You:

  • are pregnant
  • are having treatment for cancer or have any cancer tumours
  • have an infection in your foot or a history of tendon or ligament rupture

We are always happy to answer any questions and provide any further information.
